In 2008, Heather made a previous donation to Cancerbackup, representing net profits from earlier sales of her book. Thomas - then website editor of 'Whatnow?' online support community, was at the event in Leicester and received a cheque for £800! Cancer sufferers and supporters had come from throughout the U.K. to attend the 'Leicester Fiesta' social get together, following on from a similar event - the Buxton 'Rave For Life' in June that year.
